Up Tempo / Swing piece. This flute part will help you develop your ability to play up tempo Jazz / Swing music. Backing tracks include drums, guitar and trumpet. The cup mute trumpet part gives this piece a Big Band feel. Part 1 will help you develop your technical ability while parts 2, 3 and 4 focus on rhythmic development. It’s Fun to play!
C FUNK
Moderate Tempo / Funk. This piece includes a lesson that explains the chordal structure of Dominant 9th chords and the construction of the Mixolydian mode. Practice the sheet music provided then play along with the audio tracks. Use this piece to improve your performance chops and over all ability on the Flute.

SHUFFLE IN F
Moderate Tempo / 12 Bar Blues. This part will help you perform riffs over Dominant 7th chord forms. The guitar and drums give this shuffle a swinging sound . The (B) section features rhythmic counterpoint between part 1 and 2. Use this piece to become a dynamic player.
SHUFFLE IN A
Moderate Tempo / Dominant Blues. This piece features riffs using both rhythmic and melodic counterpoint. The backing tracks are played using a I – IV progression. The (C) section consists of cool triplet rhythms that will help your ability to count and increase your over all rhythmic ability.
SWING IN G
Moderate Tempo / Dominant Blues. Like Jump Swing, this piece has a Big Band sound. The backing tracks include Bass, Guitar and Trumpet using a cup mute. The (B) section uses 8th note triplets that will help your soloing ability. Use this selection to become a fast player with articulate fingerings.

SLOW BLUES
Down Tempo / Dominant Blues. This slow blues piece uses long tones on the (A) section that will help you develop great tone. The (B) section is more melodic using long phrases with emphasis on 9ths. This selection works great as a warm up.
REFRACTION
Moderate Tempo Funk / Ska. This funky selection is real fun to practice. Both parts will help you become a dynamic, rhythmic player. The backing tracks feature cool drum parts performed by Dave Braun. Listen to the rhythm section as you play.
MANGO FUNK
Up tempo / Dominant Funk. This selection is one of my favorite ones to perform. The intro uses accented notes over Dominant 9th chords. The (A) section has rhythmic parts with heavy accents on the off beat. This piece is fun to play and a great way to build technique and endurance.
